Run, walk, or cheer for neighborhood pride
Each November, Westerwood hosts a community 5K and 1-mile Fun Run to raise funds for beautification, scholarships, and park enhancements.
 
                            Race day schedule
- 7:30 AM – Packet pickup opens at Lake Daniel Park pavilion.
- 8:30 AM – 1-mile Fun Run kicks off.
- 9:00 AM – 5K start with chip timing and pace leaders.
Course highlights
The route winds through Guilford Avenue, Fairmont Street, and Courtland Street before finishing along the Lake Daniel Greenway. Expect gentle hills and cheering sections at Lakeview Street and Hill Street.
Strollers and leashed dogs welcome in the Fun Run wave.
Community impact
Proceeds fund tree canopy restoration, porch repair micro-grants, and a scholarship for Grimsley High School seniors living in Westerwood.
Sponsorships cover timing services, refreshments, and finisher medals.
